Legal information
Refund and Cancellation Policy
This page gives general information. The signed service agreement for a booking contains its actual fees, dates, and cancellation terms, and applicable law always prevails.
Effective and last updated: September 13, 2026
Confirming a booking
A date is not confirmed until the requirements in the applicable service agreement are met, normally including receipt of the signed agreement and the stated deposit or retainer. The agreement and invoice will identify the total, amount due, and due dates.
The retainer
The retainer (deposit) shown on the signed agreement is due when the agreement is signed and holds the date. Because the business turns down other work for that date once it is booked, the retainer is non-refundable and is credited toward the total fee rather than charged in addition to it.
Client cancellation and rescheduling
Send a cancellation or rescheduling request in writing as soon as possible. Under the standard service agreement, cancellation is measured by notice given before the shoot: 30 or more days, the retainer is forfeited and nothing further is owed; 15 to 29 days, 50% of the total fee is retained; 14 days or fewer, the full total fee is retained. The signed agreement for your specific booking is the version that applies and may state different figures.
Rescheduling: one complimentary reschedule is available with at least 15 days’ notice, for a new date within 6 months of the original, subject to availability. A request that does not meet this, or a new date the business cannot reasonably accommodate, is treated as a client cancellation under the terms above. Any new date, fee, credit, or expiry should be confirmed in writing.
This page describes the standard schedule; it does not represent that every payment is non-refundable beyond it, and nothing here overrides a mandatory legal right.
If the photographer cannot perform
If Nhihad Hassan Photography cannot perform, the options may include an agreed qualified replacement, an available rescheduled date, or return of prepaid amounts for services not provided, as set out in the signed agreement and required by law.
Delivery problems and refunds required by law
If agreed services or images cannot be delivered, contact the business promptly so available work, a correction, a replacement service, a proportionate refund, or another appropriate remedy can be considered. Nothing in this policy limits a refund, cancellation right, or other remedy required by applicable law.
How to make a request
Email hello@nhihadhassan.ca with the booking name, event date, and requested resolution. Do not include payment-card details. The business will acknowledge the request and provide a written response after reviewing the agreement and booking record. Approved refunds will be returned through an appropriate agreed method within the timeframe required by law or stated in the written resolution.
Existing agreements
This policy does not retroactively change a signed agreement. If this page and a signed agreement appear inconsistent, contact the business. Mandatory law applies regardless of either document.
